SOMAY "ROOF MASTIC"®
MUST BE APPLIED FULL STRENGTH as it is supplied by SOMAY .   NEVER THIN, DILUTE or ADULTERATE with any other material.  Any thinning will reduce the percentage of solids, which will adversely affect the adhesiveness, the hiding, the sealing ability and the durability of the applied coating.  Apply only to properly prepared, primed, dry surfaces, taking care that there is no contamination of the surface between coats by anything that could adversely affect adhesion of succeeding coats.

Application Rate

To develop a waterproofing membrane with SOMAY "ROOF MASTIC"®, a MINIMUM of TWO (2) FULL COATS, each 20 mils (.020 inch or .0508 cm) thick, MUST BE APPLIED, providing a TOTAL MINIMUM DRY FILM THICKNESS for both coats of 40 mils (.040 inch or .1016 cm).

On a very smooth, nonporous surface, one (1) gallon (3.79 L) of SOMAY "ROOF MASTIC" may cover up to, but never more than, 50 sq.ft. with a 20 mils thick coating; two (2) gallons (7.58 L) may cover up to, but never more than, 50 sq. ft. (4.65 sq.m.) with the required 40 mils thickness, so a minimum of four (4) gallons (15.16 L) will be required for every 100 sq. ft. (9.29 sq. m.).

The actual spreading rates will be considerably less on rough, textured and/or porous surfaces, in which case more SOMAY "ROOF MASTIC" must be used to develop the required minimum dry film thickness of 40 mils over the entire surface of the roof.

NOTE:  Be sure to measure very accurately all surfaces being coated, including the butt ends of tiles, the curved surfaces of barrel tiles, etc.  The flat square foot area of a house is NOT an accurate measure of the roof surface area to be coated.
